PORTRAIT
GENERATE THE PORTRAIT
Portrait 2.0 is processed with two anonymous steps. As the first process, data collection is queried prior to operation (portrait generation). This part is meant to dig into the participant’s files/data and translate them through a certain set of rules. In this process, participants need to log in to Google Takeout using their personal account and provide their data by following the instructions provided. This may include personal, identifiable information.
Instruction
Do NOT provide your files or personal information without carefully reading the consent agreement.
- Log in to Google Takeout with your personal account or the account that you want to use to create a portrait.
- Under "Create a New Export", press "Deselect all" and scroll down to select only "My Activity" and "Drive".
- For "My Activity", click on that, and then click "Multiple formats". Choose the file format as "JSON".
- Once this is done, you will have to select “export once” and choose the .zip delivery format.
- Wait for the copy of the content you have selected to be generated. It will take more than a few hours. When your file is generated, you will receive a notification email inviting you to download it.
- Send files to me with the "archive_browser.html" file which is stored in the same directory of Takeout.
